NEWARK — Southeastern Ohio Legal Services offers free civil legal services to seniors living in Knox County. The next intake date is Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Station Break in Mount Vernon.
SEOLS can provide a wide variety of legal services such as advice or legal representation. They can help with evictions and foreclosures, public benefits (Food Assistance and Ohio Works First benefits) consumer and debt problems, simple wills and powers of attorney documents for seniors, and Social Security denials and terminations.
Anyone needing legal services should call toll-free 888-831-9412 to see if they are eligible. If eligible, an application will be completed over the phone and an appointment will be scheduled.
It is preferable to call and schedule an appointment, however, walk-ins are welcome.
