GAMBIER — Circle K’s Alternative Gift Market is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. in Peirce Hall Lounge on the Kenyon College campus, Gambier.
What is an Alternative Gift Market? AGM is a different kind of shopping experience where gifts are purchased in honor of family, friends and those you care about. Instead of buying a material gift, shoppers at AGM make a monetary donation under the name of someone to whom they would otherwise give a gift during the holiday season. These donations go to the following causes around the world: Hunger, Gender Equality, Education, Child Mortality, Maternal Health, Medical Services and Environmental Sustainability. As a token of thanks, shoppers will receive a free holiday card for every purchase made. The Ballroom Dance Club will also be selling Christmas cards to raise money for the Russian Orphan Opportunity Fund.
There will also be free trade goods from the Global Gallery in Columbus for those who still enjoy gift-wrapping.
