MOUNT VERNON — This weekend, Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 9:30 a.m., the Lakeholm Choir will offer two presentations of the musical “Emmanuel Hope is Born” by Randy Vader and Jay Rouse.
The choir is accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra, all under the direction of Robert Tocheff, also director of the annual MVNU Messiah event and Collegians Chorale. Moving PowerPoint has been prepared by Judy Madtes and Geoff Fuller.
There are familiar carols with opportunity for audience sing-along as well as inspired new selections. Narrators are John and Janice Nielson. Soloists include Doug Matthews, Geoff Fuller, Brad Fox, Kayleigh Schofield, Terri Dixon and John Nielson. Baby Jesus is portrayed by Victoria Pienkos with parents Heather and Rob as Mary and Joseph.
An added and expressive feature has Heather signing for the hearing impaired part of the Mary solo. Ruth Frady has worked with the drama vignettes.
Both presentations are free to the public. Nursery care is provided as well as ample parking. Pastor Scott Sharpes and the Lakeholm church family cordially invite you to celebrate the birth of the Savior at this special seasonal event.
May this musical reminder of the Christ’s miraculous birth bring you hope and peace.
