MOUNT VERNON - Mark Miller of Guardian Medical Monitoring will be the guest speaker at the S.A.L.T. Advisory Council meeting, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday at The Station Break, 501 S. Main St.
Miller will discuss Guardian’s safety and security technology that is designed to guard against home intrusion or other mishaps that may occur to seniors living alone, their families or their caregivers.
The S.A.L.T. Advisory Council meets the second Thursday of every month at various locations in the county, in order to make it convenient for seniors to attend. S.A.L.T. is an acronym for Seniors And Law enforcement working Together; its goal is to identify ways that seniors can better protect themselves from crime and other vulnerable situations. In addition to county law enforcement agencies, S.A.L.T. is a commitment shared by senior leaders, senior organizations, healthcare personnel and concerned seniors. Call 397-3088 or the Knox County Prosecutor's Office at 393-6720 for more information on how seniors can get involved. All seniors are encouraged to attend the meeting.
