MOUNT VERNON — Major Lee will appear live at Vino Where You Live on Saturday at 7 p.m., at 6400 Newark Road, Mount Vernon.
The biggest thing that sets Lee apart is the style he plays known as laptap or airtap — a style which requires the guitar to be laid in the lap of the player with the strings facing up and being played more like a dulcimer than a guitar — and Lee has even taken it to the level to where he now plays it via 12-string in very unique open tunings. He also plays covers ranging from Jim Croce and James Taylor, to blink-182 and Green Day. He also plays instrumental pieces done by Andy McKee and Pete Barrenger. Lee also writes and performs his own original work as well. He now has two CDs for sale, one being a vocal CD titled “If I Gave In,” and the other being an instrumental titled “Anticipation.” Both CDs are available for purchase on the site http://majorlee.webs.com/.
Appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Wine available by the flight, the glass or the bottle. Seating is limited, so call 740-397-9463 to reserve a space.
