MOUNT VERNON — The Community Concert Association of Knox County presents its fourth concert of the season with the presentation of “Chaplin — A Life. In Concert.” This program is a tribute to Charlie Chaplin, actor and producer of unforgettable performances. This presentation, sponsored in part by the Ariel Corp., will be at the Memorial Theater on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 3 p.m.

In this stunning multi-media event, David Pomeranz will dramatize, in music, the story of Charlie Chaplin. Pomeranz wrote this show’s music and lyrics portraying more than 25 colorful characters in Chaplin’s life.

Pomeranz has had a remarkable career of recording and songwriting that includes 22 platinum and 18 gold albums. He has performed at the Kennedy Center and London’s Hippodrome among other venues. Individuals may have heard him or his music (and not known it was him) if they have watched any of the following television programs: “Will and Grace,” “American Idol,” “One Life to Live,” “The Miss America Pageant” and for six seasons, his voice was singing the theme to the ABC series “Perfect Strangers.”

In the musical theater realm, David has contributed songs for “Time,” “A Tale of Two Cities” and most recently with Kathie Lee Gifford, “Under the Bridge” and “Saving Aimee.” This particular performance had its world premiere at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in April 2008.

As usual, individual tickets are for sale at the box office when the doors open at 2 p.m. Children under the age of 21 are admitted free when accompanied by a ticket-holding adult. More information is available from Rosemarie Lehane at 740-599-5085 or online at
