DANVILLE — Danville Area Seniors will gather Thursday, Feb. 16, for a lunch, entertainment and conversation at noon at St. Luke Community Center.

Women from churches in the community will be hosts for the day and prepare a lunch. The menu will include meat loaf, baked potato, vegetable, salad, rolls, Angel Food cake with cherry topping & beverage.

There is a suggested donation for lunch; reservations are due by Monday. Contact Barb Mickley (599-7102 or 599-7224) or Marty Neighbarger at 599-2930. Leave your name, number attending and phone number on either answering machine if no one is available to answer the phone.

Guest for the day is Celeste Friedman of Newark, nationally recognized songwriter and singer. Friedman kicked off 2012 with quite a rush, ringing in the New Year on the radio with The Second Annual New Year’s Eve Celebration on The Starliner’s Radio Network. This was heard across the world in over 40 countries, and she had the honor of hosting and featuring her latest album “The Road to Santiago.”

She made presentations in January at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon, Granville Fellowship Seniors and Amber Park Retirement Community as well as celebrate the 55th anniversary of Patsy Cline’s win on the Arthur Godfrey Talent Show in 1957 at Wesley Glen in Worthington.

February dates are full of “Love Songs of the Forties” and Friedman is including he Danville Area Seniors in her schedule.

Not only does Friedman write songs and sing, she is an author and broadcaster.
