MOUNT VERNON — “Perceptions in Liberation,” an exhibit of the art of Lyndee Chase Smith, opens tonight from 6 to 8 at the Vino Art Gallery at Vino Where You Live, 6400 Newark Road.
Vino Where You Live welcomes Smith for the Grand Opening of her exhibit, to meet and talk with patrons about her artwork.
Smith describes this exhibit as a look into “relationships between our natural environment and the industrialized world. It speaks to the struggle to find a balance between living and with nature, and the progression of technology, industry and development. Direct correlations between these two worlds are addressed in her work, and the destruction that occurs when we are disconnected from our natural environment is revealed.”
Her art reveals beautiful power, mystery, tension and spirit. The creative process is, for her, a direct result of passion and conscious thought channeled through the subconscious.
Jeff Bell will be performing in the Great Room from 7 to 9 p.m. The art exhibit is free and open to the public. The music has a cover charge. Appetizers will be available in the Vino Art Gallery.
Reservations are encouraged if staying for the music. Call 397-9463.
