MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Board of DD in partnership with Grange welcomes the community to participate in the fifth annual Celebrity Omelet & Pancake Dinner at the New Hope Early Education Center gymnasium on Tuesday.

From 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. the community is invited to stop in and have a community leader of their choice cook them an omelet or pancake to order. The meal is for donation only and the proceeds benefit Citizens Supporting Developmental Disabilities of Knox County.

From 4:30 to 5 p.m. the celebrity chefs are: Mount Vernon City Schools Superintendent Steve Short; Knox County Auditor Jonette Curry; Rolls-Royce representative Matt Haughton; Knox County Career Center Superintendent Bernie Pachmayer; Mount Vernon Developmental Center Program Director Donna Mattison; Knox County Head Start Executive Director Peg Tazewell; and Knox County Preschool for the Educational Services Center Director Jenny Highnam.

From 5 to 5:30 p.m., the celebrity chefs are: Mount Vernon News Managing Editor Samantha Scoles; Knox County Commissioner Teresa Bemiller; Knox County Commissioner Allen Stockberger; Knox County Commissioner Roger Reed; East Knox Schools Superintendent Matt Caputo; Knox Area Transit Director Hillary Patterson; New Directions Director Mary Hendrickson; and Knox County Parks District Director Kim Marshall.

From 5:30 to 6 p.m., the celebrity chefs are: Knox County Assistant Prosecutor Chip McConville; Knox County Sheriff’s Office Capt. David Shaffer; United Way of Knox County Director Jen Odenweller; First-Knox National Bank Vice President Jesse Marlow; Knox County Health Department Commissioner Julie Miller; Centerburg Schools Superintendent Mike Hebenthal; and Knox County Department of Job & Family Services Administrator Jana Shira.

From 6 to 6:30 p.m., the celebrity chefs are: Joe Rinehart, director of WNZR; Executive Director of Community Foundation of Mount Vernon/ Knox County, Sam Barone; director of marketing for Ariel Corp., Bob Drews; WQIO/WMVO public relations director, Mary Trese; KCBDD Board President, Keith Hughes; WNZR “The Morning Thing,” host Steve King; WQIO/WMVO, Sara Conkle; Administrator for Knox County Department of Job & Family Services, Jana Shira.

Participants will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for theme baskets created by local Adult Service Programs. Baskets and themes are: Creative Foundation’s Our Town Studio (An Artists Studio), Easter Seals (St. Patrick’s Day), Creative Learning Workshop (Camping), Kritterville (Movie Night), VIP Clowns (Clowning), Concepts in Community Living (OSU Buckeyes — March Madness), New Hope Industries (Movie Night) and Midwest Innovations (Spa Getaway).
