MOUNT VERNON — Goat breeders, farmers and enthusiasts are invited to attend as the Knox County Goat Improvement Association will hold its 2012 Third Annual Goat Banquet Saturday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 200 N. Main St., Mount Vernon. There is a charge.
John Marsh, speaking on “Food in the Land,” said, “Growing up in a farming community in central Maryland, I got the farming bug working on my grandparents’ farm. As a young adult, I farmed in that area until economic forces gave me no option but to move on to something else. That something else was industry, where I stayed until 2005, when I came back to Knox County, specifically Gambier.”
