JELLOWAY — The Ohio Revised Code Section 1509 which regulates oil and gas drilling in our state will be the topic 9am Saturday April 7 at the Jelloway Methodist Church.
The public is invited to the discussion sponsored by Stewards of the Land, an independent group of concerned citizens from the Mohican area and surrounding counties trying to raise awareness about the risks shale drilling brings to a community.
Attendees will learn from a visual presentation exactly what regulations and protections Section 1509 does and does not include and become better able to judge if Ohio's laws will adequately protect its citizens.
Stewards of the Land is encouraging the public and public officials to prepare for the onslaught to civil liberties, health, resources, and rural way of life that accompany oil and gas drilling booms.
