DANVILLE — The Danville Area Senior Citizens luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, April 19, at noon at St. Luke Community Center in Danville.
Women from Wesley Chapel and Mohican Valley Door of Hope churches will prepare a meal consisting of Poor Man’s Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, lettuce salad, date pudding, rolls and beverage. There is a suggested donation; and reservations are due by Monday. Contact Barb Mickley (599-7224 or 599-7102) or Marty Neighbarger (599-2930). Following the luncheon, Vickie Evans of the Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio will present the program. Evans will share information on protective measures everyone can take against senior fraud; Internet, phone and mail scams; and other illegal activities targeted toward seniors.
The Knox County SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together), in cooperation with Danville Police Chief Monte Vance, Sanctuary Community Action and SALT Committee Chairwoman Dodie Melvin arranged for Evans to speak.
