CENTERBURG — Remember the feel of wind in your face and the smell of spring? Enjoy these and more as we jump on our bicycles to explore the newly paved section of the Heart of Ohio Trail on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Interested parties will meet at the new parking lot on the trail in Centerburg Memorial Park (intersection of US 36 and Ohio 314) for this three-mile outing.
“We are calling this our ‘break-in the bike trail hike,’” said Gary Moore, program coordinator for CJRD, “ and it should be a great opportunity to explore this excellent newly-paved section of trail between here and Mt. Liberty. We will stop at bridges to look for fish or listen for frogs, admire the peak of spring wildflowers and watch for wildlife along the way, so it should be a good combination of recreation, exercise and enjoying nature along the way” said Moore.
A representative of the Heart of Ohio Trail Committee will briefly review the trail, talk about recent accomplishments and discuss plans for this trail, which recently received an award for construction excellence. Participants should dress for the weather and make sure their bike is in good working order as safety will be a priority. For more information, contact Beck at 625-5123.
