MOUNT VERNON — The conspiracy, flight and inevitable execution of the players involved with the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln will be the focus of the next adult book discussion Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County.
“Lincoln’s Assassins: Their Trial and Execution,” by James Swanson and Daniel Weinberg contains hundreds of photographs, newspaper clippings, letters, trial documents and memorabilia from a lifetime of collecting by the authors. John Chidester, library executive director, will lead the discussion into this captivating account of a seminal moment like no other in our nation’s history.
Participants will be eligible to win a copy of the May adult book discussion selection, “Trail of Blood,” by Lisa Black, donated by the Friends of the Library. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
