MOUNT VERNON — Local Mount Vernon Middle School teens Emily Keiderling and Parker Price are hosting an event on Public Square in Mount Vernon on Friday, April 20, to benefit the Invisible Children Foundation. After this foundation was brought to their attention, they felt it necessary to raise public awareness of the kidnapping and injustice that is happening to children all over the world.
The public is invited to Public Square from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. as Thin Ice musicians Trent Staats, David McDonald and Jamey Hull perform. The event will also feature food, face painting and a raffle for prizes.
Invisible Children is a group based out of San Diego that brings awareness and helps raise funds to prevent children from being abducted around the world. All the proceeds from this event go to Invisible Children; donations are welcomed.
