MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Players presents “The Old Time Radio Cavalcade!” an evening of popular radio shows from the era before television.
The Players bring to life the original scripts of “The Shadow,” “Life of Riley,” “Lights Out” and “The Adventures of Sam Spade.” Just like in the old days, sit in the studio audience, watch and cheer as the actors bring back the golden days of radio. Watch the sound effects team attempt to recreate creaking doors, clattering dishes, breaking glass and eerie sounds of the night all without the use of electronics. The cast of eight, Perry Brokaw, Aaron Paulley, Tammy Souhrada, Carrie Swingle, Tim Kahrl, Dorothy Michalski, Stacy Campbell and Doug Gustafson will take on multiple roles throughout evening. J.D. Hanson and Chris Petee will be manning the table of special effects. The show is directed by Doug Gustafson and produced by Chris Petee.
Performances are Friday and Saturday at ThePlace@TheWoodward, 111 S. Main St. Mount Vernon. Shows start at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6. General admission tickets will be available at the door. For more information, call 392-3018.
