MOUNT VERNON — Mohican Advocates will hold a community forum Saturday on fracking in Ohio state parks at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The purpose is to inform residents how recent legislation threatens the tranquility and beauty of Mohican State Park and Forest along with Malabar Farm.
A presentation on what this recent mandate by the state legislature to open all state parks to fracking and timbering means for the Mohican Complex will be followed by the short movie “Mohican: The Long View” by Tim McKee. For more information, go to www.mohicanadvocates.org, or call 419-709-6461. The library is located at 201 N. Mulberry St., Mount Vernon.
