MOUNT VERNON — In celebration of the Friends of the Library Chocolate Friendzy, the Academy Award-nominated movie, “Chocolat,” rated PG-13, will be the selection for Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County free movie night, today at 6:30 p.m.

Critics describe the movie as “charming” and a “delight to the senses” with a thought-provoking, yet entertaining, look at prejudice, acceptance, redemption, life and love. Actors Judi Dench, Juliette Binoche, Alfred Molina present the story of a woman and her daughter turning a small French town upside down when she opens a chocolate shop.

The movie will be held in the lower level multimedia center featuring the new surround sound stereo system donated by the Friends of the Library and using the library’s public viewing license. The program is free and open to the public. Popcorn and beverages will be served. For additional information, call 740-392-BOOK (2665), email communityrelations@knox.net or visit www.knox.net.
