The second annual Cornhole Tournament will be held on the northeast side of the Square at 6 p.m. Sponsors include Flapper’s Bar & Grille, Herald’s Appliances and Electronics and Page One Group. There is a small fee and prizes are awarded for first and second place. To sign up, contact the HCA office or come early to the tournament.

Donley Ford-Lincoln of Mount Vernon is the Cruise-In sponsor. Goody bags will be given out to the first 25 registrants. There is no fee to participate; door prizes will be awarded. The registration tent will be on the west side of the Square.

Food will be provided by Flapper’s Bar & Grille, The High Restaurant and Woolson’s Concessions on the Public Square. Downtown merchants will be open late for shopping and various art galleries will host receptions.

Award-winning acoustic guitarist Brian Henke will perform at the FirstMerit portico, sponsored by Vino Where You Live and Susan Ramser.

Additional activities include Woodward Opera House tours from 6 to 8 p.m. and Quick-Start tennis demos and registration for youth and adults with the Mount Vernon City Recreation Department and the Kokosing Valley Community Tennis Association in the 100 block of South Main. Kenyon College students will be at the Buckeye Candy building with their Public Spaces Project.
