UTICA — Utica High School announced Thursday that the commencement speaker for the 2012 graduation will be The Honorable Judge David Branstool, a 1985 Utica High School graduate.
Following his graduation from Utica High School, Branstool attended The Ohio State University, earning his undergraduate degree in 1989, and his law degree from Capital University in 1994.
During law school, he served as a member of the Law Review (1992-93) and earned the American Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional Law (1992). He currently serves as a judge of the Licking County Common Pleas Court, General Division. He was elected to the Licking County Common Pleas Court in 2010. Previously, he served as a judge on the Licking County Municipal Court from 2003-10. Branstool is the son of Gene and Mary Jo Branstool of Utica. He lives in Johnstown with his wife, Paulette, and three children, Taylor, Samuel and Grace.
Commencement will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, at the Career and Technical Education Center (C-TEC) located at 150 Price Road in Newark.
