MOUNT VERNON — The American Red Cross of Knox County will offer a Babysitting Class on Monday, July, 9.
Since 1981, the American Red Cross has built a foundation of training youth to be great babysitters. Today the program reaches about 120,000 youths nationwide each year. The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Babysitters Training course is to provide youth who want to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants.
Designed for youth ages 11 to 15, the course helps participants develop leadership skills, build a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe, and guide children’s behavior. Participant also learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The Babysitting Class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Chapter Training Center. Participants will need to register for the class by calling 1-800-REDCROSS or logging on to REDCROSS.ORG. The American Red Cross of Knox County is a United Way Agency.
