DANVILLE — The Danville Area Senior Citizens meeting and luncheon will be Thursday at noon at the St. Luke Community Center in Danville.
The afternoon will begin with a steak dinner prepared by the women from Danville and Millwood Churches of Christ.
The menu will include baked steak, seasoned red potatoes, vegetable medley, salad, rolls, dessert and beverage.
The guest for the afternoon will be Marcus Yoder, resident of Martinsburg area. Yoder is of the Mennonite community and a noted historian for the Mennonite and Amish communities. He has done extensive research on the history, traditions and culture of both the Amish and Mennonites. Yoder will provide insight to help everyone in attendance better relate and understand the communities.
Danville Area Senior Citizens luncheon/meeting is open to former and current residents in Eastern Knox County (East Knox and Danville school districts) and their friends and neighbors.
