GAMBIER — A free photography exhibition of the work of 24 local photographers who focused on the rural life of Knox County takes place on July 22-29 at three venues.
Different photographs that make up the exhibition called “Rural Life in Knox County” can be seen at the Kenyon College Graham Gund Gallery, 101 College Drive, Gambier; Knox County Fair; and the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Buchwald Center Schnormeier Gallery, 221 S. Main St., Mount Vernon. The Gund Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. The Schnormeier Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The photographers took part in a six-session workshop this month. The workshop and exhibition are the result of collaboration between Kenyon, Knox County 4-H and MVNU. The photography exhibition was inspired by the ongoing Gund Gallery exhibition called “Persistence: The Rural in American Art,” which is on view through July 22.
To learn more about the photography exhibition, call the Gund Gallery at 740-427-5972. The exhibition is co-sponsored by the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon and Knox County, Gund Gallery, Knox County 4-H, MVNU and the Ohio Arts Council.
