CENTERBURG — The public is invited to attend the annual flag retirement ceremony to be held at the Centerburg Conservation Club on Aug. 16, at 7:30 p.m.
Services will be composed of the Knox County Joint Veterans’ Council and the Boy Scouts and their leaders from Troop 382.
This a special ceremony to respectfully honor worn and tattered flags that are to be retired. These flags were a beautiful banner and a special symbol to remind Americans of comrades who fought and died for the freedom of this nation.
The public is encouraged to bring worn flag’s to be retired. New, quality flags, can be purchased from the Veterans’ Service Office, 411 Pittsburgh Ave., Mount Vernon.
