MOUNT VERNON — In observance of National Suicide Prevention Week, the Knox County Suicide Prevention Coalition will sponsor events today from 4 to 7 p.m. on Public Square in Mount Vernon.
In remembrance of those who have died by suicide, a vigil will take place at 6 p.m.
The public is invited.
On Saturday, there will be a 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m. starting at the Gambier Railroad Station on the Kokosing Gap Trail. There will be a free T-shirt for the first 100 registrants. Awards will go to first-, second- and third-place male and female runners. Walkers with strollers and/or leashed pets are welcome.
