FREDERICKTOWN — When children experience separation or divorce in their families, they may not have the opportunity to share their feelings with others. DivorceCare for Kids brings children together weekly to provide biblically based healing opportunities with their peers.
DC4K features fun games and activities along with DVD dramas about real-life situations of children of divorce and points children to the Bible and Jesus Christ as the source of healing.
Topics include learning about what is happening to my family; facing my anger; how to deal with my sadness; who’s to blame; dealing with loneliness; talking to my parents; and moving on, growing up and growing closer to God.
The program is geared for children in grades one through five who are in separated or divorced family situations. A new group will be held on Thursdays from 3:45 to 5:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 20 at the Fredericktown United Methodist Church.
