MOUNT VERNON — A Community Town Hall featuring the candidates for local elections will be hosted by the Knox County Democratic Women on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
The non-partisan event will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in Room 28 at the Educational Service Center on Martinsburg Road in Mount Vernon.
John Chidester, director of the Public Library of Mount Vernon & Knox County will serve as the moderator. The format of the event will include brief presentations by each of the candidates as well as response to questions from the audience. Currently John Booth, Thom Collier, and Jim Hughes, candidates for county commissioner; Margaret Ann Ruhl and John Ryerson, candidates for Ohio State Representative; and Joyce Healy-Abrams, candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives have agreed to participate.
The public is welcome and urged to attend this event in order to be a well-informed citizen when casting the November ballot.
