MOUNT VERNON — “Bats … A Better Understanding” will be the topic of the next Brown Bag Chat on Wednesday at noon at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry St.

Bat experts Don and Diana Plant, of Bat Conservation International and the Organization for Bat Conservation, will give a presentation on this amazing and often misjudged winged creature that has been creeping into headlines and eaves as cold weather approaches. Sort out fact from fiction and learn tips to keep both bats and your family safe in this informative and entertaining program.

The program is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome. For additional information, call 740-392-BOOK (2665), ext. 243; visit; or email
