BUTLER ó A Natural Cache GPS Training for Educators will be presented Friday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Mohican School in the Out-of-Doors Inc. in the Environmental Learning Center, 5370 Bunkerhill North Road, Butler.
The workshop is open to formal and non-formal educators who may have wanted to use GPS technology in their classroom, but donít know how to use a GPS receiver.
Learn the basics of GPS (Global Position System) technology, how to use a GPS receiver, principles of Leave No Trace and Cache In, Trash Out, and ways to apply the use of GPS to all aspects of classroom curriculum. Experience firsthand the excitement of geocaching. GPS units are available for use in this workshop. All participants will receive printed reference materials and a certificate confirming six contact hours. Graduate credit will be available through Ashland University for a fee as part of the GREET Fall 2012 workshop series.
