CENTERBURG — The Centerburg school district is hosting a program called “Bully-Proofing our Youth” in the high school auditorium on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. The program is free to anyone from any school district.
Behavioral therapist Jim Bisenius will be presenting information for parents about bullying behaviors and how we can help our children deal with this issue.
Bully-Proofing Youth is a practical and effective bullying prevention program designed for children grades one through 12. It teaches students what bullies who target look for in those they pick on and how to stop giving those reactions. Through assemblies, workshops and group trainings, Bisenius instructs students, teachers, and parents in ways to eliminate bullying behavior. Bisenius’ presentations are delivered in an extremely entertaining and interactive manner using humor, drawings, story telling and role-playing. This program offers unique techniques and tools that will benefit even schools where anti-bullying curriculum is already in place.
