CENTERBURG — The Centerburg Senior Services, in cooperation with the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, will be distributing at least 10,000 pounds of fresh vegetables on Wednesday at the Centerburg Church of Christ.
The fresh produce will arrive at about 9:30 a.m. Distribution will begin at 10:30 a.m. and last until 1:30. The produce is available to any Knox County resident who the meets the food bank’s income guidelines. A single person can make up to $429 a week gross. A two-person household can make $581 a week; three, $734; four, $886; five, $1,038. Add $152 a week for each additional person.
This is the third such offering in the Centerburg area. Previous distributions included beets, apples, potatoes, yogurt, juice and baked items.
Chef Paul Higgins will be onsite to demonstrate low-cost, healthy options to cook the vegetables.
