MOUNT VERNON — The concert Knox Rox 2012 will be tonight at 7 at the Memorial Theater in Mount Vernon.
You know what’s harder than learning? Having difficulties learning. Want to know what’s harder than that? Not having the resources one needs when an individual has those difficulties. Funding for the greater needs of these children has been diminished significantly this year, that's why a group of great musicians, businesses and volunteers have come together to create Knox Rox 2012.
This is an eclectic concert where 100 percent of the profits benefit alternative learning in Knox County. The show will feature the rock ’n roll sensations the Up All Nights, the electric electronicians On Top of Low, Earth, Nashville singer-songwriter and Mount Vernon native Crystal Chandler, and Mount Vernon’s own Poor White Trash performing their last show.
Profits raised by the show do not go back to administrative payroll but rather to the tools these kids need to learn. The public is invited to help give these kids a chance at a brighter future by attending and supporting the concert at the Memorial Theater. Tickets will be available at the door. Audience discretion is advised as adult language will be used during this concert. For more information check out Knox Rox on Facebook.
