GAMBIER — Organizers of Food for the Hungry invite the public to the 2012 Knox County Food for the Hungry Gala on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Gund Commons at Kenyon College. Enjoy dinner prepared by the talented chefs of the Kenyon Inn and entertainment by Padula Oblongata, an acclaimed jazz ensemble.

“Kenyon College is thrilled to partner with Food for the Hungry and support our community through the Gala,” said Erin Ciarimboli, gala committee member. “Last year’s gala was a huge success and we look forward to another exciting evening of festivities and giving back to our neighbors.”

Guests may participate in silent and live auctions offering unique items and opportunities. The evening begins with a reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7. Individual tickets are priced at $100 per person. To reserve a place, call 740-427-5760 or visit www.foodforthehungrycares.org no later than Nov. 23.

Online registration and payment options are available at www.foodforthehungrycares.org. Proceeds from this annual gala benefit needy families and individuals in our own county.

This year’s gala will honor the late William A. Stroud, Knox County volunteer par excellence, with the first presentation of the William A. Stroud Award for Public Service. Anyone interested in sponsoring a table ($1,000 for eight people) or supporting the gala in some other way, contact Kathryn Brechler Lake at 740-427-5111 or lakek@kenyon.edu. All sponsors will be recognized in the program.
