Mount Vernon — Elixir, the Ohio Humanities Council and Ariel Foundation present the final Music in America Series program featuring Barb Bowers and ladies from the Sweet Adeline’s Dogwood Blossom’s discussing barbershop music in America, its history, what constitutes the style and a wonderful program that will feature Christmas songs performed Barbershop style.
The program is Thursday at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m., at ThePlace@TheWoodward, 111 S. Main St. As with the Chautauqua and Lyceum series, this program is presented on a donation basis.
The 2013 Chau-tauqua/Lyceum Series schedule will be available at this program as well. A sneak preview of some of the Chautauqua performers in 2013 include: Ronald Reagan, Charles Schultz, Marilyn Monroe, W.C. Fields, Benny Hill, George Armstrong Custer, Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, Jim Thorpe and Mama Cass.
