MOUNT VERNON — The third Our Schools and Our Community Night will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Mount Vernon High School Theater. The town hall begins at 7 p.m. and will focus on announcing the student services that will be cut due to the failure of the levy this past November.
Members of the Mount Vernon City School Board and Superintendent Steve Short will be present to make the announcements and answer questions from the audience. In addition, community members may share their concerns and ideas about the direction of education in the Mount Vernon City Schools.
The Our Schools and Our Community Committee is made up of members of the community, and present and former employees of the Mount Vernon City Schools. One of the goals of OSOC is to improve public relations between the greater community and the School System through town halls, open houses, meetings and electronic communications.
