MOUNT VERNON — Cut in spending for the Mount Vernon City Schools budget will be the topic of discussion at the next town hall sponsored by The Our Schools and Our Community Committee to be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
The town hall will begin at 7 p.m. and will take place at the Mount Vernon High School Theater. School board members, as well as superintendent of Mount Vernon City Schools Steve Short, will answer questions and listen to community member's concerns about the cuts being made.
The town hall is held in an open discussion format and there is no time limit placed on citizens for comments or the number of questions they would like to ask of the panel.
The Our Schools and Our Community Committee is made up of concerned citizens of the community, plus retired and active school personnel.
