MOUNT VERNON — St. Vincent de Paul School will be hosting a trio of events for preschool and kindergartners and their parents.
•Parents of current preschool students and 2013-14 preschoolers interested in sending their child to St. Vincent’s next school year, are invited to a Preschool Parent’s Night Out. “Pizza and Movie Night” will take place Saturday, Jan. 26, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul. There will be supervised children’s activities and movies, while parents are invited to relax and socialize in the cafeteria. There is no cost for this event, but reservations are requested. Call Joyce Foreman at 393-3611 by Jan. 24.
•St. Vincent de Paul School Early Childhood Roundup will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria for interested preschool and kindergarten parents and students. Parents will learn more about the program, Pre-3’s through grade one, the highlights of each program, expectations and age requirements.
•St. Vincent de Paul School kindergarten screenings for 2013-14 students are scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.; and Thursday, March 7, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Children must be 5 years old by Aug. 1, to be eligible for kindergarten. Call the school office to schedule a screening. All kindergarten students need to be screened before they can register.
