GAMBIER — The Rococoa Wind Quintet, a new ensemble that includes music faculty from central Ohio colleges, will perform on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 7 p.m. in Brandi Recital Hall in Storer Hall, 105 College Drive.
The ensemble’s name was created to reflect the ensemble’s taste for good music and good chocolate, taking its name in part from rococo, a late-Baroque period, and from cocoa. Chocolate will be distributed to audience members at the end of every performance.
Their debut program features works by Israeli, American and European composers, including Astor Piazzolla, Jan Radzynski and Julio Medaglia.
The ensemble includes Karen Atria, bassoon, who teaches at Denison University and Otterbein University; Nancy Gamso, clarinet, who teaches at Ohio Wesleyan University; Leslie Maaser, flute, who teaches at Denison University; Steve Rosenberg, oboe, who teaches at Denison University; and Heidi Wick, horn, who teaches at Kenyon College and Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
