MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Beekeepers’ Association is sponsoring two classes in beekeeping. The Feb. 9, beginners class will cover all basic information needed to become a beekeeper. Topics include what kind of bees are best suited to the area, where to get bees, what equipment is needed and how to use it.
A second class is scheduled for existing beekeepers who want to learn more about bees. This Advanced Beekeeping Class is set for March 9. This class will cover queen rearing, swarm catching, pollen collection and more.
Both classes will be held at the Knox County 4H Center, 401 W. High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Seats are limited so pre-registration is required. Visit the Knox County Beekeepers’ Association website at www.knoxbees.com to learn more about the classes and online registration.
Each class has a fee per person or couple and current members may receive a discount.
