MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon High School will be offering a Summer School Program for all students, in and out of the Mount Vernon School District, entering grade 9-12 during the 2013-2014 school year. Summer school will begin June 10, with a session of physical education and health to begin Jun. 27. OGT prep classes will begin June 10.
The following classes will be offered for full credit: Algebra I, Algebra Fundamentals, Algebra II, Algebra Fundamentals, Biology I, Chemistry, English (9, 10, 11), Geometry, Physical Science, Senior Social Studies, U.S. History, and World History. All classes are scheduled for three hours per day 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. with reading and assignments expected to be completed outside of scheduled classroom time. The cost of these classes is $220 for both in and out of district students. The following classes will be offered for 1/4 or 1/2 credit: Computer Applications and Health 8 to 11 a.m.; and Physical Education 8 a.m. to noon. The cost of these classes is $140 for both in and out of district students.
The following classes will be offered for OGT Math, OGT Reading, OGT Social Studies and OGT Writing. These courses will prepare students for summer OGT testing. The cost of each course is $95.
