MOUNT VERNON — For those who like sea food and want to learn how to prepare scallops and tilapia, pay a visit to the River Room Café on Friday.
February is Career Tech Month, and the chef and catering program at the Knox County Career Center has invited a former student to return and do a whole day of lessons on sea food.
Nathan Shepard, from Centerburg, works for Kroger’s in Columbus and is bringing his expertise to share with Doreen Berkaw’s chef and catering class. He will be spending time in the morning with the individual students and his demonstration in the afternoon is open to the public. There is no charge to attend.
Shepard will be preparing Honey Scallops and Mango Chutney Tilapia in the River Room from noon to 1:30 p.m.
