MOUNT VERNON — The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will be “for the birds.” literally, when a live bald eagle, red-tailed hawk and great horned owl make an appearance at a special Brown Bag Chat at noon Wednesday.
Local eagle expert Jon Minard will present “Ready to Soar: Eagles of Knox County” with the help of his feathered friends from the Back to the Wild Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Castalia. Minard will share the latest information and video of the increasing populations of bald eagles in Knox County.
The Friends of the Library and Minard provided a donation to the wildlife center in order to bring the live birds up close and personal with the public. The program is free and open to all ages. Refreshments will be served.
For more information, visit the main library at 201 N. Mulberry St.; call 740-392-BOOK (2665), ext. 243; visit www.knox.net; or email communityrelations@knox.net.
