TIVERTON — The 111th Tiverton Community Institute will be held Wednesday and Thursday, March 6-7, at the Tiverton Grange Hall located on Coshocton County Road 20 and Ohio 206.
Programs will start at 10:30 a.m. each day with a covered dish at noon and program at 1 and 7 p.m. daily. Door prizes will be given daily.
Events taking place March 6 — Baking contests and woodworking contest at 10:30 a.m. Children, 12 years of age and under, to make no-bakes and adults make custard pie; in woodworkinig, any woodcraft (boys 13 to 16 years of age). Speakers will be Emily Adams from the OSU Extension Office and Ken Smails speaking on history. At 1 p.m., the program will include music by Pooch Blackson, “One String Banjo”; talk by Sharon Hunter on “Civil War.”
Kids’ Night begins at 7 p.m. with special music by Amish school children; and “Bloodhound Rescue” presented by Jane Stall. Judging of Summer in the Country poster contest.
Events taking place March 7 — At 10:30 a.m., Dave Snyder of Warsaw will present “100 Years of 1913 Flood.” Beginning at 1 p.m. will be: Mildred Mozena, Feed Sack Quilts; Kathy Thomson, Coshocton Foundation; and Donna Rae Young, Pyrex Breaking.
There will be a soup supper from 4 to 7 p.m. followed by music by young people of Sugar Creek. Tiverton News will be presented by Al Gross, then skits by members of the community.
