MOUNT VERNON — Every hour that passes, someone in the US is diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). An unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. MS interrupts the flow of information within the brain and between the brain and body. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
On Saturday, April 6, join the Mount Vernon Middle School team, the MStompers, for a fundraiser to support the Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society. This event will be held from 7 to 12 p.m. at WineStein, 156 Howard Street, Mount Vernon. The popular classic rock band, County Line, will begin performing at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for this event, there is a small suggested donation for admission.
One hundred percent of the money raised will be applied to the upcoming Walk MS event held on April 20, at the Columbus Zoo, said Emily Annett, MStompers team leader. Annett’s Walk MS T-shirts will be available for signatures of support. Participate in the 50/50 raffle or purchase an MStomperss T-shirt. Educational information will be available and anyone is welcome to sign up for the coming Walk MS.
