FREDERICKTOWN — Saturday, April 13, from 8 to 10 a.m. the congregation of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church invites the community to breakfast. The breakfast fundraiser to support the Paraguay Mission Team will take place in the Fellowship Hall at 123 Columbus Road.
The team of 11 will fly into Paraguay in June. They will be doing community outreach, evangelism and other service work in partnership with the New Horizons Methodist School in Lambare. The school is about an hour outside of Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay. The school was founded to educate children and teach about Christ, with the vision to reach out to their families, community and country, and change lives for the better. Their goal is to raise $30,000 for travel expenses and supplies or donations to the school.
New Horizon School currently has an enrollment of 750 students, and will graduate its first class this year. The students receive a Christian-based education, which includes English, computer skills and music. For more information on New Horizon Schools and its mission, go to www.paraguayschools.org.
The mission in Paraguay will be to share the Gospel in the community, in partnership with the students from the school, through various community outreach including music, songs, skits and a Vacation Bible School program.
Anyone unable to attend the breakfast but would like to support this mission, may mail contributions directly to the Fredericktown UMC at 123 Columbus Road, Fredericktown, OH 43019. For information, contact the church office at 740-694-5806.
