FREDERICKTOWN — On Tuesday, April 16, Spay & Neuter Abandoned Cats & Kittens, Inc. and the Fredericktown Veterinary Clinic, Inc. will hold a low-cost spay and neuter clinic for pet cats, strays, and feral cats at the clinic, located at 156 Columbus Road. This event is being called “A Snip in Time” because a female cat can become pregnant as early as 4 months of age and both sexes breed before they are a year old.

The community fix-it day for cats is a joint effort between SNACK Inc. and the Fredericktown Veterinary Clinic as a community service to help reduce cat overpopulation.

Space for this event is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Drop-off time for the event is between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Pick-up is between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Pre-registration and prepayment is required. For safety reasons, each cat must be in his/her own plastic carrier or humane trap. Registration forms are available at www.snackohio.org or by requesting a registration form by phone at 614-371-8996 and leaving a voicemail with address information. The special price includes spay or neuter, a one-year rabies vaccination and ear-tipping for feral cats. Kittens are also eligible if they weigh at least three pounds. Because of the cool nighttime temperatures, cats and kittens must have a warm recovery area for at least 48 hours after surgery.

This offer is available only through SNACK Inc. and is limited to two cats per household.
