MOUNT VERNON — The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will present a free matinee featuring the Academy Award winning film, “Les Miserables,” (PG-13) Sunday, April 14, 2 p.m. Seating will be when the library opens at 1 p.m.
A plethora of acclaimed actors including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway star in this critically-acclaimed adaptation of the epic musical phenomenon, set in the 19th century in France. The emotional tale follows the lives of ex-prisoner Jean Valjean (Jackman) and policeman Javert (Crowe) and factory worker Fantine (Hathaway) in an “unforgettable experience” of the survival of the human spirit.
