MOUNT VERNON — Spring is finally here and it’s time for individuals to take their best canine friend for a run in the park. Canine good citizenship is critical. What are the rules of engagement where dogs are concerned? Is a wagging tail a sign of friendship? How do you know if it is OK to pet someone’s dog? What are your responsibilities when walking your dog in public?
“Rules of Engagement — The Language of Dogs” will be presented Wednesday at noon at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County. Training and tips will be given by certified animal trainer Barb Kurtz during this Brown Bag Chat.
One does not have to be a Dog Whisperer or even own a dog to appreciate this interesting and informative program. This is a people-only program — no dogs.
The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served or feel free to bring a brown bag lunch. For information visit the main library at 201 N. Mulberry St.; or call 740-392-BOOK (2665), ext. 243; visit www.knox.net; or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
