MOUNT VERNON — The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County will present the Academy Award-winning film, “Life of Pi” (rated PG), for its free movie night at 6:30 Wednesday.

The visually stunning masterpiece from Oscar-winning director Ang Lee presents the adventure of a lifetime based on the best-selling novel by Yann Martel. After a traumatic shipwreck, young Pi Patel finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with only one other survivor — a ferocious Bengal tiger. Bound by the need to survive, the two are cast on an epic journey.

The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Popcorn will be supplied by Subway of Mount Vernon. For information stop in the main library at 201 N. Mulberry St.; call 740-392-BOOK (2665), ext. 243; visit; or email
