MOUNT VERNON — There will be a celebration of poetry and music Tuesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Sips Coffee House and Deli.
Featured poets will be Connie Willett Everett and Hannah Stephenson.
Everett received degrees from Ohio University and Bowling Green State University, including a MFA in Creative Writing. She has edited for Bottom Dog Press and Pudding House Publications, co-coordinates the Columbus Poetry Forum.
Stephenson is a poet, editor and instructor living in Columbus. She is the founder of Paging Columbus!, a literary arts monthly event series. Her full-length collection of poetry, “In the Kettle, the Shriek,” is forthcoming from Gold Wake Press (October 2013).
David Kender, who specializes in music lyrics and rhythm guitar, will entertain, as well as Ryan Otis and Kevin Kincaid, musicians who specialize in acoustic guitar and drums.
Open mic will follow the evening’s entertainment. Mark Hersman, poet, will be emcee for the evening.
This will be the last Coffee House until September. Admission is free, and artists’ work will be available for purchase.
